Crisis Support

I am unable to provide 24-hour crisis support. If you are experiencing a crisis, please access emergency services by calling 911, calling the Multnomah County Crisis Line at 503-988-4888, or go to any emergency room.

Cancellation & Late Policy

Your session time is unique to you, and it takes strategizing to make sure all of my clients are accommodated. Therefore, I request 24 hours notice if you need to cancel. However, life happens, so I offer one courtesy last minute cancellation per six month period. After that, I charge $50 per missed session that is not cancelled within 24 hours. If you arrive late for session I am still happy to meet with you, but it is unlikely I will be able to extend the session time beyond its normal end time. If you attend session virtually, I will wait in the virtual space for 20 minutes after your scheduled start time before logging out. If you would like to meet after this point, you are welcome to call or text me, and I will log back in. If I need to cancel or reschedule due to illness, I will communicate via email and/or text message.

Telehealth

Telehealth has become increasingly popular, and with good reason! In order to engage in Telehealth care, you must be physically located in the state of Oregon at the time of your session. In addition, you may not be in a moving vehicle during your session whether you are the passenger or driver. There are many reasons for these rules, and I am happy to explain more upon request. While Telehealth is often more convenient, it does have its limitations. Due to those limitations, I only provide phone sessions on an individual basis once I have a better idea of your needs and how to support you. Video sessions are available to all clients. There is no difference in cost between in-person and Telehealth care.

Confidentiality

I use a HIPPA compliant electronic health care records system, secure client portal, and phone system. If you reach out to me over email, please note that it is not a secure, HIPPA compliant platform to communicate about your care. I do not respond to treatment related information over email, though general scheduling can be attended to over email.

In addition, to support my ability to care for you, I may need to access supervision or peer consultation. In these spaces, I share about clients without revealing identifying information.

Good Faith Estimates

As of January 2022, medical and mental health care providers are required to give clients who are not using insurance for their care an estimate of the amount they should expect to pay for services. As I do not bill insurance, you will be provided with a Good Faith Estimate of the cost of your care. If you receive a bill that is $400 over your Good Faith Estimate, you may dispute it. I will provide you with a copy of your Good Faith Estimate, and will keep a copy in your secure client file. For more information please visit: https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
